Starting position
The board
Draughts is played on a 10 by 10 checkered board. The board has to be positioned in such a way that the left bottom square is of the dark color.
The pieces
Each player starts with 20 pieces. The pieces are placed on the darker colored fields on the bottom 4 rows. White makes the first move
